Jeuveau Injections
Meet the “NEWtox” in town, Jeuveau™! This new injectable comes from the French word “nouveau,” meaning “new” or “modern” and is pronounced Jū vō. William Franckle, MD, FACS and his team are excited to offer this innovative, non-surgical treatment to our patients.
What Is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau™ is a 900kDa purified botulinum toxin type A and is similar in formulation to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport, and Xeomin. It is used to help temporarily reduce frown lines between the eyebrows, or “glabellar lines,” by preventing muscle contractions that may form wrinkles. Jeuveau is approved by the FDA and has been studied across five clinical studies involving over 2,100 patients. The most common side effects reported by patients include eyelid drooping, headaches, upper respiratory tract infections, and increased white blood cell count. It is a non-surgical treatment that usually requires minimal to no downtime.
Jeuveau vs. BOTOX
Unlike other injectables that are often used to treat medical conditions, Jeuveau was clinically developed for aesthetic uses. BOTOX and Jeuveau are both neurotoxins, but BOTOX can also be used to treat chronic migraines, excessive sweating, and neck spasms. Jeuveau is dedicated exclusively to aesthetics.
What Happens During a Jeuveau Treatment?
During your treatment, Dr. Franckle will clean the area and make a few small injections in the chosen targeted areas. These injections will begin to stop the tightening of the facial muscles. Injectable treatments are popular because they are in-office treatments that generally take as little as 10 minutes, with no downtime. Many of our patients visit us during their lunch break and head right back to work.
What Will My Results Look Like?
You can expect to see results from your Jeuveau treatment within two to three days, and they generally last up to five months. You should notice smoother skin around the treated area with reduced wrinkles and fine lines. Patients often report a healthier, more youthful complexion after their treatment. For long-lasting results, we can create an ongoing treatment plan that works with your schedule.
How Much Does Jeuveau Cost?
Jeuveau is sold by the unit, similarly to BOTOX Cosmetic. If you are a current BOTOX patient, you may or may not need the same amount of units of Jeuveau. At your first treatment, Dr. Franckle will examine your treatment areas and give you an estimate of the units needed and their cost. If you have a specific budget in mind, please be sure to share that with Dr. Franckle before the injections begin. We can help you create a payment plan with our financing options, CareCredit®, or Prosper Healthcare Lending. Call our office at 856.772.6500 with any additional questions.

How to Prepare
Preparation for non-invasive treatments, such as Jeuveau, is not particularly strenuous. During your initial consultation, please inform Dr. Franckle of the medications you’re currently taking and any known allergies. He may recommend that you stop taking medications containing aspirin or ibuprofen two to three weeks before your treatment because they may increase bleeding at the treatment site. Please refrain from wearing makeup or face lotion the day of your treatment.
FAQ's
To help create a supple, youthful look, many patients choose to combine Jeuveau with hyaluronic acid injectable fillers. Dr. Franckle specializes in the Juvéderm family of products, including Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Voluma, and Juvederm Volbella. While Jeuveau is used to help minimize the appearance of fine lines through muscle relaxation, injectable fillers can be used to help address the loss of volume in the face. Fillers are most commonly used in the nasolabial folds (the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth) to replace lost volume in the cheeks and subtly plump thinning lips.
Another option that you can combine with Jeuveau is Kybella. If you want to address pockets of fat underneath your chin, more commonly referred to as a “double chin,” Kybella may be able to help. Choosing a combination of non-surgical treatments may help you achieve your aesthetic goals more efficiently. During your initial consultation, Dr. Franckle will discuss whether you would benefit from a combination treatment plan.
Because it’s a non-invasive procedure, Dr. Franckle will administer the smooth gel treatment via an injection. Mild bruising, redness, itching, and swelling are normal reactions at the injection site and should subside within a few weeks. Once the swelling reduces, patients typically start to notice results two to three weeks after treatment. Contact William Franckle, MD, FACS if you experience a more severe reaction or symptoms that last longer than 30 days.
