Meet the NEWtox in Town!
Jeuveau™ (pronounced Jū vō, rhymes with hello) comes from the French word “nouveau,” which means “new” or “modern.” It is the NEWtox in town! Jeuveau is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults. Jeuveau is FDA approved and we are one of the first practices in the area to offer this new injectable to patients!
What is Jeuveau?
Jeuveau is a 900kDa purified botulinum toxin type A, similar in formulation to treatments already on the market including BOTOX Cosmetic, Dyspot and Xeomin. What makes Jeuveau different is it was clinically developed only for aesthetics. The use of these products to treat medical conditions outside of the aesthetic world has become more and more popular in the past several years. For example, BOTOX can be used to treat chronic migraines, excessive sweating and neck spasms. Jeuveau™ is dedicated exclusively to aesthetics and nothing else.
What Happens During a Jeuveau Treatment?
During your treatment, Dr. Franckle will clean the area and then make a few small injections in the chosen targeted areas. These injections will immediately begin to stop the tightening of the facial muscles. Injectable treatments, like Jeuveau, are so popular because it is an in-office treatment, generally taking as little as 10 minutes, with no downtime. Maybe of our patients visit us during their lunch break and head right back to work!
What Will My Results Look Like?
You can expect to see results from your Jeuveau™ treatment within 2-3 days and lasting up to 5 months. You should notice smoother skin around the treated area with reduced wrinkles and fine lines. Patients report a more youthful, healthy complexion after their Jeuveau treatment. For long lasting results, we will create an ongoing treatment plan that works with your schedule.
Are There Side Effects of Jeuveau?
After your treatment, similar to other injectables, you may experience some minor swelling or numbing of the treated area. Jeuveau™ has been studied in over 2,100 patients across 5 clinical studies. The most commonly reported side effects in clinical trials include headache, eyelid drooping, upper respiratory tract infection and increased white blood cell count. No serious drug-related adverse events were observed in the studies.
What Does Jeuveau Cost?
Jeuveau is sold by the unit, similar to BOTOX Cosmetic. If you are a current Botox patient, you may or may not need the same amount of units of Jeuveau. At your first treatment, Dr. Franckle will take time to examine your treatment areas and give you an estimate of units needed and cost. If you have a specific budget in mind, please be sure to share that with Dr. Franckle before the injections begin.

For an overall tightened, youthful look, many patients are choosing to combine Jeuveau with hyaluronic acid injectable fillers. Dr. Franckle specializes in the Juvéderm family of products, including Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Voluma and Juvederm Volbella. While Jeuveau is used to minimize the appearance of fine lines through muscle relaxation, injectable fillers can be used to address loss of volume in the face. Fillers are most commonly used in the nasolabial folds (lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth), to replace lost volume in the cheeks, and subtly plump thinning lips.
Another great option for a full face rejuvenation is the newly developed Kybella. If you wish to address pockets of fat underneath your chin, more commonly referred to as “double chin,” Kybella may be your answer! By choosing a combination of non-surgical treatments, you can better achieve your aesthetic goals more efficiently. During your initial consultation, Dr. Franckle will discuss whether you would benefit from a combination treatment plan.
