Is a Brow Lift Right For You?

Horizontal forehead wrinkles, often referred to as “worry lines” between your eyebrows, and drooping skin around your eyes and eyelids are all signs of aging that appear in the upper portions of the our face. What can you do to treat that area? A brow lift is a versatile procedure that can help reduce these wrinkles and fine lines, leaving behind fresher, more youthful-looking skin around the eyes, on the bridge of the nose, and up to the hairline. You may be a good candidate for a brow lift procedure if you meet the following criteria.

You Have Signs of Aging That a Brow Lift Can Address

Skin loses elasticity with age, this includes the skin around our eyes and on the upper face. If you have noticed wrinkles, lines, or drooping in these areas, you may be a good candidate for a brow lift. It is still important to talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon, like Dr. Franckle, about the procedure and if it can properly address your needs. Dr. Franckle will also discuss  alternatives, including non-surgical options such as injectables and dermal fillers, should those treatments better fit your desires.

You Are in Good Health

Patients who undergo any type of surgery, including a brow lift, should be in good overall health to minimize the risk of complications. You can ensure that you’re a good candidate for the procedure by talking to Dr. Franckle about any preexisting medical conditions. It’s also essential that you stop smoking before and after the brow lift to promote recovery. During the first week or two after the procedure, you should avoid strenuous activity and take some time off work.

You Are the Ideal Age

Typically, brow lift procedures yield the best results for patients between the ages of 40 and 65. Younger patients may be good candidates for the procedure if they are genetically predisposed to heavy brows or deep lines in the upper face. We can help you determine whether you’re in the right age range for a procedure based on the signs of aging you’re currently experiencing.
