Advances in Non-Invasive Plastic Surgery Technology
Posted on December 22nd, 2015 by Dr. William FranckleMany reasons exist for choosing plastic surgery, all as varied as the patients we treat. One thing that remains consistent from patient to patient, is the desire to remain looking ‘natural’ after the treatment or procedure. While surgery is still a major component of our practice, advancements in cosmetic technology have made non-invasive corrections a viable option. It does so with far less recovery time (sometimes none) from a more extensive surgical procedure.
Botox and Dysport
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® can reduce the signs of aging by smoothing out the skin’s surface, freeing it of mild to moderate frown lines, crow’s feet, and wrinkles between the eyebrows. All it takes is ten minutes to rejuvenate and the treatment lasts, on average, three to six months. It works so quickly it can be done in between business meetings or on one’s lunch break. With a few injections, strategically placed around the face by Dr. Franckle, the tightening of the facial muscles is released and wrinkles can appear softened.
Injectable Fillers
Losing volume around our face is a natural part of the aging process. Deep set wrinkles, hollowed cheeks and thinning lips are signs of aging that Botox and Dysport cannot treat. Those types of issues are better handled with an injectable, dermal filler. At our office, Dr. Franckle relies on Juvederm. This FDA approved injectable gel, when used strategically around the face where wrinkles form, can restore a natural, youthful looking appearance, all within a 30 minute visit to the office. There is no downtime associated with a dermal filler like Juvederm. Some patients do experience some redness or bruising around the injection area. In both instances, topical makeup can usually do the trick to cover it up.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal, using the Sciton ClearScan Laser is plastic surgery technology that has grown in popularity double fold over the last 10 years. Using laser technology is a much more effective hair removal process than shaving, waxing, or plucking. Common areas treated with laser hair removal include the face, the back, the underarm, along the bikini line, and on the arms and legs. In the end, laser hair removal is the most cost effective option as it lasts longer than traditional methods of hair removal. There is no recovery time needed for this form of hair removal, and it is virtually painless.
