Plastic Surgery to Help Achieve That Bikini Body
Posted on June 29th, 2018 by Dr. William FranckleSummer means it’s time to swap out the sweaters for swimsuits. Some of us haven’t quite hit our fitness goals yet, but luckily there are cosmetic procedures to help shape the body and give you the confidence you desire to enjoy your days on the beach. These are our top picks for summer procedures.
Breast Lift or Augmentation
Whether dressing up for a midsummer wedding or dressing down for a weekend beach vacation, women want to be comfortable and confident with their bustline. If sagging breasts are your concern, a breast lift is a great option. A breast lift does not change the size of the breasts but instead tightens the breast tissue to improve breast firmness and contour. This is an ideal procedure for women who have flatten or sagging breasts after pregnancy, aging, or large fluctuations in weight. Those who want to add size or re-shape their breasts might consider breast augmentation as their summer surgery, and as an outpatient procedure with only a few weeks’ recovery time, they’ll be back at the beach in no time.
Tummy Tuck
It’s hard for many people to achieve a perfectly flat stomach with crunches alone, but a tummy tuck can help to reduce bulge and tighten muscles in the stomach. With this summer surgery, the excess fat (and for some skin) around the tummy is removed, and the underlying muscles are tightened. Typically, an incision is made low on the abdominal area that runs hip to hip across the midsection. Fortunately, it’s usually low enough that a bikini bottom hides it. A tummy tuck does require a month or two of healing time before returning to strenuous activity, so it would be best to keep the beach activities to relaxing, lounging, and reading.
Arm Lift
A flat stomach and firm breasts are great, but no one wants flabby arms either. Many women wear tank tops and sleeveless dresses during the summer, and an arm lift can help complete the look. An incision is made beneath the arm, usually from the elbow to the armpit. The excess fat (and for some skin) is removed—and the remaining skin is tightened to reduce sagging and smooth out skin. Recovery time is only about a week, though many women may experience swelling for a few weeks after.
