Botox® Cosmetic Treatments
Some of the most common areas of aging that patients come to us wishing to address can be easily and quickly helped with BOTOX® Cosmetic injections. These fast, nearly painless injections provide effective temporary results in helping to reduce the signs of aging. If you’ve noticed fine lines and wrinkles around your forehead and areas around your mouth, then you may be an ideal candidate for a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment. Whether the symptoms are a result of aging, stress, environment, heredity, or a combination of factors, Dr. Franckle and the professional team at William Franckle, MD, FACS can help address these trouble areas to provide you with a smoother, more contoured and healthy appearance.
Understanding BOTOX® Cosmetic
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a non-surgical injection that is used to smooth and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and frown lines around certain areas of the face. These cosmetic treatments are FDA approved and have been shown to provide effective temporary results for both men and women. But, what exactly is Botox? BOTOX® Cosmetic is derived from botulinum toxin type A and is a purified protein that reduces the movement of the forehead muscles that lead to increased wrinkles and fine lines. Treatments take as little as 10 minutes and can last up to four months, although results vary for each patient.
What Can BOTOX® Cosmetic Treat?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is used to treat certain focus areas of the face, in particular, fine lines and wrinkles found on the forehead and between the eyebrows. It can also be used to address crow’s feet around the eyes. These non-surgical injections can also be used to help with the formation of “bunny lines”—wrinkles that appear by the side of the top of the nose when you smile. Dr. Franckle will detail your options fully during your initial consultation.
What Results Can I Expect from BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® provides immediate results that generally last between three to four months. Many of our patients find that these quick, simple treatments are a more comfortable alternative to surgical options, such as a facelift. After the treatment, you should expect some minor swelling or numbing of the affected area. This may result in some unrestricted motion of your facial or forehead muscles, but this will dissipate shortly. The result should be a smoother skin contour with reduced wrinkles and fine lines, leaving you with a more youthful, healthy composition. At your appointment, we can work with you to create an ongoing treatment plan that works with your schedule to help you maintain your desired look.
What Happens During a Botox Treatment?
During your treatment, Dr. Franckle will clean the area and then make a few small injections in the chosen targeted areas. These injections will immediately begin to stop the tightening of the facial muscles. Our patients rave about this treatment’s brief duration with no downtime—it’s an in-office treatment and generally takes as little as 10 minutes. Plus, there’s minimal discomfort during the procedure, and afterward, you can get back to living your life. Some patients even fit BOTOX® Cosmetic injections into their lunch breaks!

FAQ's
Dr. Franckle will perform your treatments in our office, making sure you’re completely comfortable the entire time. Dr. Franckle is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has honed his injection technique through decades of experience. Furthermore, BOTOX® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved product. Most of our patients report mild stinging at the injection site. Side effects that have been reported include mild neck pain, headaches, and numbness or soreness at the injection site. The numbness and slight soreness at the injection site are to be expected, but if you experience any other symptoms, then you should let Dr. Franckle or our staff know right away.
By combining BOTOX® Cosmetic with other injectable fillers, you can create an even more effective result. Our line of hyaluronic acid injectable fillers includes both the Restylane and Juvéderm family of products. Injectable fillers address three common signs of aging—the nasolabial folds (lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth), lost volume in the cheeks, and thinning lips. Another great option for a full face rejuvenation is the newly developed Kybella. If you wish to address pockets of fat underneath your chin, more commonly referred to as “double chin,” Kybella may be your answer! By choosing a combination of non-surgical treatments, you can better achieve your aesthetic goals more efficiently. You can learn more about our line of injectable dermal fillers in our Guide to Injectable Fillers. During your initial consultation, Dr. Franckle will discuss whether you would benefit from a combination treatment plan.
