What Is Juvéderm?
The Juvéderm family of injectable fillers can lift, smooth, and plump skin for natural-looking results that can last up to two years. Juvéderm fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced by your body to moisturize and retain water. As you age, the body creates less hyaluronic acid, often resulting in sagging, wrinkled, and dull skin. Unlike other treatments like Botox that target crow’s feet or forehead lines, Juvéderm is the first dermal filler to be FDA-approved to treat mid-face volume loss. It can correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles, as well as age-related facial volume loss in patients over the age of 21. With targeted treatments for your cheeks, nasolabial folds, and lips, it’s no surprise that Juvéderm has been ranked the number one injectable filler in the world.
Soften Facial Lines and Wrinkles With Juvéderm XC
An area in which we commonly show our age is the nasolabial folds—the lines that form a parenthesis from the nose to the mouth, sometimes also called laugh lines or marionette lines. As we age, these lines often become more pronounced. Juvéderm XC injectable fillers can help soften, lift, and smooth out nasolabial folds, with results that can last for up to a year. Juvéderm XC is a hyaluronic acid gel with a smooth consistency that helps add volume and hydration to make laugh lines less noticeable. Unlike some other fillers that have a granular consistency, the smooth gel in Juvéderm XC is ideal for treating fine lines to create an even, natural result.
Reduce Facial Volume Loss With Juvéderm Voluma XC
Changes in the face’s appearance are a normal part of getting older, but not everyone ages in the same way. Lines and wrinkles begin to form, but what may not be as obvious is a reduction in facial volume. Facial skin starts to sag, and the cheeks begin to flatten, causing the face to appear older and more hollow. Juvéderm Voluma XC can help restore facial volume, creating an uplifted appearance by adding natural-looking cheek contours and reducing the appearance of a sagging jawline. In a clinical study, patients who chose Juvéderm Voluma XC to correct facial volume loss reported looking an average of five years younger within six months of their treatments. Juvéderm Voluma XC has been proven to last up to two years when used to treat facial volume loss, and it was given the Beauty Expert Breakthrough Award by Allure Magazine in 2014. In addition to treating volume loss, Dr. Franckle may recommend Juvéderm Voluma XC to help reduce the appearance of acne scars.
Plump and Smooth Lips With Juvéderm Ultra XC
Thinning lips are another age-related change that many patients struggle with. For some, thin lips are something they’ve always had and always wanted to change. Juvéderm Ultra XC offers a natural-looking correction for this common complaint. The injectable gel filler can smooth lip wrinkles and boost lip volume to create a natural-looking, plump appearance. Juvederm is the only dermal filler proven to last for up to one year in the lip area, and 78% of patients treated expressed satisfaction with the improvement in the look and feel of their lips one year after treatment.

How to Prepare
As a non-invasive treatment, preparation for your Juvéderm procedure should be fairly simple. After your initial consultation with Dr. Franckle, you’ll be ready to make an informed decision about your treatment options and have all of your questions about the procedure answered. Dr. Franckle may use a topical anesthetic or dental block to reduce pain during the treatment, and he may recommend that you suspend current medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, that could increase bleeding at the injection site.
FAQ's
Juvéderm fillers are made of hyaluronic acid to naturally plump and hydrate the skin. Other fillers, like Restylane®, also rely on the hydrating properties of hyaluronic acid to help reduce wrinkles and fine lines on the face and lips. You should discuss your options with Dr. Franckle to determine which filler is best suited to your goals. In some cases, Juvéderm may be combined with other fillers like Kybella and Botox or Dysport to create a personalized treatment plan.
As a non-invasive procedure, Dr. Franckle will administer the smooth gel treatment via an injection. Mild bruising, redness, itching, and swelling are normal reactions at the injection site and should subside in 2-4 weeks or less. Once the swelling reduces, patients typically start to notice results 2-3 weeks after treatment. Contact Dr. Franckle if you experience a more severe reaction or symptoms that last longer than 30 days.
